How it works

How to resize an emote

  1. Step 1: Add your emote

Choose or drop the picture, ideally a PNG with a transparent background.

  2. Step 2: Pick the platforms

Twitch emotes, Twitch badges, Discord emoji, or several at once.

  3. Step 3: Download

Get every size as a square PNG, together in one ZIP, ready to upload.

Emote Resizer

Every size, made properly

  • Each size from the original

The small sizes are made from your full picture, not from a blurry copy of a bigger one.

  • Pixel art stays crisp

Pixel art mode keeps hard edges at every size, with no blur.

  • Square and centred

Any shape fits into the square with transparent space around it, never stretched.

  • Private

Emotes are made in your browser and never leave your device.

In detail

Emote and badge sizes

The sizes

Each size is a square PNG with a transparent background. Check each platform’s upload page for its current file size limit.

  • Twitch emote: 112 × 112, 56 × 56 and 28 × 28
  • Twitch subscriber badge: 72 × 72, 36 × 36 and 18 × 18
  • Discord emoji: 128 × 128

Smooth or pixel art

Smooth

For drawings, logos and photos. Every size is made from your full picture, so even 28 pixels stays as clean as it can be.

Pixel art

Every pixel stays a hard-edged square, with no blur. It works best when your art divides evenly into the sizes, for example a 28 × 28 emote drawn once and scaled to 56 and 112.

Drawing emotes that read well small

  • Start large, at 112 pixels or more, and keep shapes simple.
  • Use a transparent background and a dark outline, so the emote works on light and dark chat themes.
  • Check the 28-pixel version: that is how most people will see it.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes does Twitch need for emotes?

Three square sizes: 112 × 112, 56 × 56 and 28 × 28 pixels. This tool makes all three from one picture.

What size is a Discord emoji?

Upload it at 128 × 128 pixels. Discord shows it smaller in chat.

My picture isn’t square. Will it be stretched?

No. It is fitted into the square and centred, with transparent space around it.

Can I resize pixel art emotes?

Yes. Choose Pixel art and every size keeps hard pixel edges, with no blur.

Is my picture uploaded?

No. The sizes are made in your browser, on your own device, and never sent anywhere.
