How it works

How to resize an image

  1. Step 1: Add your images

Choose or drop one photo or a whole batch. JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and more all work.

  2. Step 2: Pick the new size

Enter pixels, a percentage, or choose a ready-made size for Instagram, YouTube and more.

  3. Step 3: Download

Save each image, or download the whole batch together as one ZIP.

Image Resizer

Exact sizes, sharp results

  • Never uploaded

Images are resized in your browser. They stay on your device the whole time.

  • No stretched photos

Keep proportions, or hit an exact size by cropping or padding instead of distorting.

  • Sharp when smaller

Large reductions are done in steps, so fine detail stays crisp instead of jagged.

  • Whole batches

Resize dozens of photos to the same size at once, then grab them in a single ZIP.

In detail

Resize images the right way

Three ways to resize

Keep proportions

Enter a width and height and every image is scaled to fit inside that box without being stretched. Portrait and landscape photos in the same batch each keep their own shape.

Exact size

Unlink the proportions to get exactly the size you typed. Choose Crop to fill to trim the edges, Fit inside to add a white, black or transparent background, or Stretch.

Percentage

Scale every image by the same amount, such as 50% to halve both sides.

Common image sizes

Pick these from the preset list, or type them in yourself.

  • Instagram post: 1080 × 1080 (square) or 1080 × 1350 (portrait)
  • Instagram and TikTok story: 1080 × 1920
  • YouTube thumbnail: 1280 × 720
  • Facebook post: 1200 × 630
  • X (Twitter) post: 1600 × 900
  • LinkedIn post: 1200 × 627

Smaller images for email and websites

Photos straight from a phone are often 4000 pixels wide or more. Resizing them to 1920 or 1280 pixels on the longest side makes them far quicker to send and load, and they still look sharp on screen.

If a form asks for a maximum file size instead, such as 200 KB, the Image Compressor can hit that target for you.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without losing quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp: large reductions are done in steps so detail isn’t lost. Enlarging can’t add detail that isn’t there, so tick Don’t enlarge smaller images when some photos in a batch are already small.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, on your own device. Your image is never sent to Moriqa or anyone else.

Can I resize many images at once?

Yes. Add as many images as you like; they are all resized with the same settings, and you can download them together as a single ZIP.

How do I resize a photo for Instagram without cropping it?

Choose the Instagram preset, then set Fit to Fit inside. The whole photo is kept and the empty space is filled with the background colour you pick.

Will my photo be stretched?

Not unless you choose Stretch. Keeping proportions, Crop to fill and Fit inside all keep the image’s original shape.

Which formats can I resize?

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF. Save in the original format, or switch to JPG, PNG or WebP.
