How it works

How to convert PNG to JPG

  1. Step 1: Add your PNG files

Choose them or drop them on the page. A whole folder works too.

  2. Step 2: Pick the quality

High keeps photos looking the same at a fraction of the size. Transparent areas become white.

  3. Step 3: Download your JPGs

Save files one by one, or grab them all in a single ZIP.

About PNG and JPG

Why convert PNG to JPG?

PNG keeps every pixel exactly, which is perfect for screenshots, logos and graphics but makes photos very large. A photo saved as PNG is often five to ten times the size of the same photo as a JPG.

JPG is made for photos. Converting turns heavy PNGs into files that are quick to email, upload to forms and share in chats.

Choosing the quality

  • Maximum: the closest to the original, still far smaller than PNG.
  • High: looks the same to the eye for almost every photo. The best default.
  • Medium and Small file: for strict upload limits, with a little softness in fine detail.

What happens to transparency?

JPG can’t store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. To keep a transparent background with a small file, choose WebP instead.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to Moriqa or anyone else, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?

JPG is a compressed format, so a tiny amount of detail is traded for a much smaller file. At High quality the difference is not visible in normal photos. For logos and text, PNG usually stays the better choice.

Why is my JPG background white?

JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels have to become a colour. White is used because it matches most pages and documents.

Can I convert many PNG files at once?

Yes. Drop in as many files as you like, or a whole folder, and download them together as a single ZIP.

Is PNG to JPG the same as PNG to JPEG?

Yes. JPG and JPEG are two names for the same format; the files work exactly the same way.

Want to change the image too?

Open it in Moriqa to crop, retouch, add text or remove the background, free in your browser.
