Blur Image

Share photos without sharing too much

  • Blur

A soft blur for faces and backgrounds, as strong as you need.

  • Pixelate

Large blocks of colour, the classic way to hide faces and plates.

  • Black box

A solid box for text, numbers and anything that must not be read.

  • As many areas as you like

Hide several things in one photo, as rectangles or ovals, and move them until they fit.

In detail

Hiding things in photos properly

Three ways to hide

Blur

A soft blur that looks natural in a photo. Turn the strength up for faces, so they can’t be recognised.

Pixelate

Large blocks of colour, the familiar look of a hidden face or number plate.

Black box

A solid box. Use it for text and numbers that must not be read: names, addresses, card and account numbers, passwords in screenshots.

Hide it properly

  • Make the box a little larger than what you hide, so no edge shows.
  • Use a high strength: a light blur can leave a face recognisable and short text readable.
  • For text in screenshots, a black box is the safest choice.
  • Download the result and share that copy, not the original.

Why it stays private

The photo is processed in your browser, on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, so the photo you are protecting is never sent anywhere, not even to us.

Frequently asked questions

How do I blur a face in a photo?

Add the photo, drag a box over the face, choose Blur or Pixelate and set a high strength. Then download the photo.

Can I blur several things in one photo?

Yes. Draw as many boxes as you need; each one is hidden the same way. Drag a box to move it, or remove it with its × button.

Can a blurred area be undone?

Not from the downloaded photo: the hidden pixels are replaced. For text and numbers, a black box is safest, since a light blur or small pixels can sometimes still be read.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, on your own device. Your photo is never sent to Moriqa or anyone else.

Can I blur in an oval shape?

Yes. Choose Oval under Shape, which fits faces better than a rectangle.

Need more control?

Open the photo in Moriqa’s photo editor to select, blur and retouch exactly the areas you want, free in your browser.
